Meta-analysis of the origin of bimaturism in orangutan males

Unlike any other primate species, orangutans exhibit extraordinary sexual differences in their facial morphology. Two different strategies are available for males that reach sexual maturity: either become fully “flanged” and develop secondary sexual characteristics, which is knownto be only developed by the dominant male, or remain “unflanged” and not develop secondary sexual characteristics. The mechanism for how this bimaturism evolved and how occurs is poorly understood, but both flanged and unflanged males are reproductively successful. This project explores the physiological mechanism behind bimaturismin orangutan males; namely, are there genetic differences between flanged and unflanged males such that the strategy is inherited, is bimaturism a result of hormonal differences, and how do the two strategies influence reproductive success in male orangutans? Previous studies have shown that males that develop these “flanges” or cheek pads are more likely to have a high reproductive success than the ones who do not develop them. Results suggest that males with flanges emit a loud vocalization calls, also known as long calls, that give them higher opportunity for mates.https://scholarscompass.vcu.edu/uresposters/1257/thumbnail.jp

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of cafe atmosphere, product quality and lifestyle on consumer satisfaction at Doctor Kupi Café in Lhokseumawe City. The research sample was taken as many as 100 respondents from the Kupi Café Doctor Customer, through the distribution of questionnaires using the Purposive Sampling method, which is a sampling technique with certain considerations that is only given to customers. The results showed that there are partially three independent variables namely café atmosphere, product quality and lifestyle that have a significant influence on customer satisfaction. While simultaneously through the café atmosphere F test, product quality and lifestyle simultaneously influence customer satisfaction. Adjusted R square of 0.729 shows that 72.9 % of customer satisfaction variables are influenced by the three independent variables used in the regression equation. While the remaining 27.1 % is influenced by variables not included in this study.  Keywords:  Café Atmosphere, Product Quality, Lifestyle, Customer Satisfaction

Madrasah as one educational institution has a role in implementing character-based education. In order for the education to be carried out later to meet the expectations that have been proclaimed, it must be formulated early on how management or management should be done. For that reason, in this paper will be discussed specifically about the management of madrasah in organizing character-based education. Character-based madrasah management is the management of madrasah that always prioritizes the principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, dignity, service, quality, and growth in every component of its management

This paper aims to analyze al-Ghazali's Sufism thoughts in the book Minhajul Abidin. The research method used is library research. Therefore, the basic analysis that the author uses is the method of content analysis (content analysis). The conclusion concludes that al-Ghazali's Sufism, its relevance to worship, is an inseparable unit, because worship is the actualization of morality that comes out of a sense of service and is full of sincerity. Worship has stages, all of which require several spiritual (sufistic) stages, as a process of worship. Of all these Sufistic values, al-Ghazali always uses knowledge, things and 'charity, cognitive, affective and psychomotor). With the first stage of knowledge, then he will do ('amal) as the second stage, namely repentance. The third stage he faces as a barrier in worship (uqbat al-awa'iq). The fourth stage is sustenance and various calamities that befall it. The fifth stage is the impetus in worship ('uqbat al-bawa'is) namely with khauf (fear) and raja (full of hope). The stages are the stages of destruction (uqbqt al-qawadih). The last stage is praise and gratitude ('uqbat al-hamd wa al-syukr

Random fields, large deviations and triviality in quantum field theory. Part I

The issue of the existence and possible triviality of the Euclidean quantum scalar field in dimension 4 is investigated by using some large deviations techniques. As usual, the field ϕ4\phi^{4} is obtained as a limit of regularized fields ϕk4\phi_{k}^{4} associated with a probability measures ÎŒk,V\mu_{k,V}, where k,Vk, V represent ultraviolet and volume cutoffs. The result obtained is that in a fixed volume, the almost sure limit (as k→∞k \rightarrow \infty) of the density of ÎŒk,V\mu_{k,V}, with respect to the Gaussian free field measure, exists and is equal to 00, provided that the coupling constant sequence is not vanishing. This implies that ÎŒk,V\mu_{k,V} can not have a strong limit as the ultraviolet cutoff is removed. Furthermore, the normalization sequence Zk,V=Ee−Lk,VZ_{k,V}= E e^{-{\cal L}_{k,V}} is divergent as k→∞k \rightarrow \infty for dimension 4 or greater. This leads to the non ultraviolet stability of the scalar quantum field in dimension 4 and tends to question its possible existence. In other cases, in particular, when the coupling is vanishing with a sufficiently high speed the limiting field is trivial. These assertions are also valid for vector fields and can be extended to polynomial Lagrangians

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of KKM in motivating engine crew members on ships and to find solutions to streamline the role of KKM leadership on ships. This research method is a qualitative research method based on an understanding of the role of the Head of the Engine Room (KKM) to motivate employees or crew in MV. Greenville 168. This study uses primary data, namely data obtained directly from respondents through interviews. The results of the study indicate that a harmonious relationship between leaders and subordinates in the work has been well established because the KKM is quite informative. However, harmonious relationships are still limited to work, while outside work they are not. The KKM's authority includes providing work instructions only based on habits that can lead to unclear duties and responsibilities. Therefore, it is necessary to build interpersonal relationships between KKM and machine crew members. The role as a monitor is further enhanced, especially the delivery of testimonials to companies so that the career path is more focused. In conclusion, the delegation of tasks should be documented not only based on habits that can cause estrangement with subordinates.  Keywords: Head of Engine Room, Leadership, Motivatio
